About the role
We are looking for someone to design, implement, and operate service provider networks on Juniper platforms, ensuring the availability and performance of telecommunications services through advanced JunOS configuration and modern transport architectures.
Responsibilities
- Configure and manage Juniper devices in service provider environments: MX Series (MX480, MX960), PTX Series, and ACX Series.
- Implement and operate advanced routing protocols in JunOS: BGP (eBGP/iBGP, policies, communities), OSPF, and IS-IS.
- Manage MPLS services: LDP, RSVP-TE, Segment Routing, L2VPN (VPLS, Circuit Cross-Connect), and L3VPN.
- Apply routing policies, route filters, and prefix lists in accordance with the operator's network policy.
- Configuring QoS on Juniper Platforms: Classifiers, Schedulers, and Traffic Shaping for Multiservice Environments.
- Operate and monitor the network using Junos Space, NorthStar (RSVP-TE Controller), and NMS tools.
- Perform highly complex troubleshooting using JunOS diagnostic commands (traceoptions, BFD, RSVP debug).
- Collaborate on peering and transit: configure the Internet Exchange (IX) and RPKI/ROA for routing security.
- Document configurations, topologies, and changes in accordance with change management standards.
- Participate in network expansion projects and platform migrations.
Requirements
- Degree in Telecommunications, Electronics, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
- Valid JNCIP-SP (Juniper Networks Certified Internet Professional – Service Provider) certification. Required.
- At least 5 years of experience in service provider networks, with a focus on Juniper platforms.
- Verifiable experience with MX Series equipment and advanced JunOS configuration.
- Experience in 24/7 production environments involving the management of high-priority incidents.
- Advanced BGP (multihoming, communities, AS-path filtering, RPKI), MPLS (SR-MPLS/SRv6, Fast Reroute), VPN services (L3VPN, L2VPN, Inter-AS VPN), and QoS in JunOS.
- Automation with PyEZ (Python for Junos), Ansible, and NETCONF/YANG.
Desirable
- JNCIE-SP certification in progress or already obtained.
- Knowledge of Juniper Contrail/Tungsten Fabric or SDN as applied to SP.
- Experience with Cisco platforms (CCNP SP) in a mixed environment.
- Technical English for reading documentation and communicating with Juniper's TAC.
- Experience with RPKI, ROA, and routing security best practices (MANRS).
